Sip your way into summer with a refreshingly fruity, CBD infused peach Iced Tea! This is a perfect choice to celebrate National Iced Tea Day, on Wednesday June, 10th, 2020. Deliciously simple this tea is an ideal way to both hydrate and enjoy the mellow benefits of a CBD enhanced beverage.
To keep things on the healthier side, we are using juicy summer peaches to add sweetness instead of the stereotypical sugar or honey. Any type of tea is grand here, but a green variety will marry with the peach flavors quite nicely. An added bonus? Green tea is chock full of antioxidants!
To start your tea off on the right foot you will need to first activate the raw cannabis. You can do this by placing your CBD flowers (roughly 7 grams) on a cookie sheet in the oven for approximately 40 minutes at 240°F. This will kick off the carboxyl group and allow the flower to release its psychoactive properties. Be sure to rotate and stir your flower filled cookie sheet every 15 minutes to guarantee an even toast. Once the flower is done toasting use your grinder to roughly grind the buds.
Peach CBD Iced Tea – makes one gallon
Adapted from: http://nug.com/
Ingredients
- 6 green tea bags of your choosing
- 3 cups of fresh, very ripe peaches (the riper the peaches, the sweeter the tea will be)
- 7 grams of your favorite CBD strain – see our CBD Oil Tinctures
Optional:
- Honey/agave/maple syrup
- Fresh Mint leaves
- Lemons for garnish
- Equipment:
- 1 pot
- 1 cookie sheet
- 1 fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth
- 1 long-/handled spoon
Method:
Place your nicely toasted ground flower into a large pot and cover with 1 gallon of room temperature water.
Next add your green tea bags and slowly bring the water to a gentle simmer (approximately 10-15 minutes).
Using your strainer or cheesecloth, pour your tea into the pitcher removing all the ground flowers and tea bags. While your tea is still hot add your sliced peaches. If you desire a sweeter tea, feel free to add a few tablespoons of honey, agave, or maple syrup here.
Allow tea to cool and strain out the peach slices (or can leave a few in for a fun garnish).
Once your tea has completely cooled serve over ice with a fat lemon wedge and fresh mint sprigs.
